My Journey Back to Life

How a Serious Illness Led to My Personal Mission

Hi, my name is Rüdiger Ehl – "THE WATERMAN".

In 2021, I became seriously ill with Legionnaires' disease. At times, my oxygen saturation dropped to just 65 percent. At night, I would wake up repeatedly feeling as though I couldn't breathe. At the hospital, the doctors determined that the disease had severely damaged my lungs.

I was given cortisone and told the devastating news: "There's nothing else we can do for you. From now on, you'll have to live with the lungs of an overweight 80-year-old."

Coughing, shortness of breath, and exhaustion dominated my daily life. Even the slightest exertion became a challenge for me. But I wasn't willing to accept this situation.

I wanted my old life back.

I began looking for solutions, tried out many different things, and grasped at every straw. In the process, I became increasingly fascinated by an element that is part of our daily lives yet is often underestimated: water.

In February 2025, I had a complete water treatment system installed at our home in Mallorca. What happened next changed my life: After about four weeks, my cough—which I'd had for years—disappeared. After about eight weeks, I was able to live my everyday life just as I used to—freely, actively, and without the symptoms I'd been experiencing. Most importantly, I no longer needed cortisone.

To me, it felt as if I had gotten my life back.

Of course, high-quality water is no substitute for medical treatment. But my personal experience made me realize just how important water can be for our well-being. This realization led to my mission: I want to show others what they can do with their water.
